Versitility of Blogs and Wikis
I continue to be amazed at the multiple uses of blogs and wikis. While at first I wasn't too sure about how I could use them with my classes I now see many ways they could be utilized that wouldn't really require me to change the activity much at all. I frequently have students read a passage about a biology topic or one written by a biologist and ask them to respond to what they have read. Using a blog for this would be great because then all the students could read eachother's reactions to the passage and then comment on other students' responses. That is even better than having them write in isolation!

Hopefully they will also be more interested in the subject because they have been expected to make a meaningful comment. I think that they will be surprised at how much they learn from each other. Sometimes talking with someone else about something that has been read brings out facts and information that may have been missed individually!!
